The Muddy Dog Company is delighted to be launching for the first time a limited edition collection of bags in natural textiles featuring Mulberry chenille and fresh Spring Polka-dot cottons. The Muddy Dog Company English woven wool check and vintage textiles create our individual collection.

Spring 2008, the big story is rich dense leather in matt and shine coupled with luxuriously soft suedes in a variety of fabulous new designs in natural colours including jet, café, flax and olive. Antique finish and Vintage style leathers feature strongly alongside vegetable tanned soft leather in sharp acid lime, aubergine, azure, havana and eau-de-nil. The cowhide range made famous by The Muddy Dog Company includes black & white or brown & white splash, zebra print and chocolate. New for this season alongside their distinctive suede collection are many contemporary yet nostalgic styles - The Bucket Bag, The Little Frame Purse and Granny's Frame Bag. The unforgettable cowhide Overnight Bag is now joined by The Vintage Union Flag World Traveller bag and the Mulberry Chenille Weekend Bag.

Attention and obsession to detail is vital to the designer, Beverley Holtom. She insists on using only the finest leathers, vegetable tanned leather trim and cowhides. The highest quality brass fittings and only the best YKK zips are used to secure the bags. Perfection is required inside the bags as well using only 100% cotton drill lining, off cuts of leather are used to make the essential phone pocket and internal key chains are your new best friend “Heaven knows where I put my keys before I had one of these. We make nearly all our bags individually to avoid mass production glitches which can end in compromising the quality. When we outsourced production in the past, I was always wary of the tiniest compromises made from the original finished sample”. April 1999 - The Muddy Dog Company began life in a mellow ham-stone village nestling in the depths of Somerset adopting an ethos that wanted to create a business loyal to British manufacturing and English leather workmanship, while at the same time bringing a contemporary feel to a traditional product. Our aim is to support British Craftsmanship and quality of product which, when matched with our innovative designs and use of natural fabrics, achieves our distinctive styling for which we are known.
