The Hunter ceiling fan from The American Fan Company (www.americanfan.co.uk) was recently featured on ITV1's 60 Minute Makeover programme. It was installed in the conservatory, which had a complete makeover, masterminded by designer Scott Waldron at Matt and Ella's house in Ashford, Kent. If you missed the show you can see it on the website. www.itv.com/60mm
The Carera Hunter ceiling fan keeps the house and conservatory cool as it gives a wind chill factor of up to 5 degrees C. It is environmentally friendly as it only uses 5% of the power required for an air conditioning unit. It uses the same electrically as a 100 watt light bulb. Like all Hunter ceiling fans, it is wobble-free and quiet. There are no annoying hums or vibrations. Hunter fans motors come with a lifetime warranty and in the winter you can save money on heating bills by operating the fan in the reverse direction.
On 60 Minute Makeover, the contemporary three blade Carera in brushed nickel with dark walnut blades, blended perfectly with Scott Waldron's revamped design for the conservatory. As he says: “The dark wood of the blades gives that colonial feel. The ceiling fan is remote controlled and you can reverse blades for winter use.”
When the conservatory was revealed to Matt and Ella, Matt is so impressed that he said: “I'm going to be out here all the time.”
Niki Clegg, UK Sales Director of The American Fan Company, who was interviewed on the show, said: “A Hunter ceiling fan like the Carera is ideal for a conservatory. It keeps it cool during the summer as it has a wind chill factor of up to 5 degrees C and then in the winter the blades can be reversed to save up to 24% on heating bills so you get the best of both worlds.”
She adds: “I think Scott did an incredible job transforming the home as you can see from the 'before' and 'after' footage – it's amazing what can be achieved.”
The American Fan Company offers Hunter ceiling fans in a vast range of designs to suit different decors. For example the Italian-style Lugano, the Traditional Savoy or the traditional smaller Seville, all available in several finishes with optional controllers and light kits.
