New for AW14/15 from Graduate Collection
As the days draw shorter and thoughts turn to the great indoors, Graduate Collection introduces a number of new additions to their luxury lifestyle ranges to provide interior inspiration for the seasons ahead.
As well as a raft of innovative new designs on cushions, wallpaper and ceramics, there are new directional colourways and fresh takes on some firm favourites all showcasing the work of some of the UK's most talented new designers.
Hot new talent…
In keeping with company ethos to search out and support graduates, Laura Bohan is the latest designer to join the Graduate Collection stable and launches with her “Discovering London” wallpaper collection. Featuring some of the most iconic landmarks of London both old and new, Laura's hand drawn and collaged illustration perfectly captures a walk through the capital.
Laura graduated with a BA (Hons) Surface Design Degree from London College of Communication, part of the University of the Arts London. Laura is inspired by history, nature and all things vintage. Her designs include hand illustrations, collage and layering. Laura's designs have been displayed at the British Museum, New Designers and the Imago Gallery. Her collection “Discovering London” consists of digitally collaged illustrations to add depth in the design, whilst allowing the iconic landscape to shine through.
The bright and the bold…..
Bold geometrics and repeated patterns of strong colour will be making their presence felt in interiors both clacci and contemporary. Ellie Hyde's new Geometric collection features a rich, retro-inspired colour palette taken from the architectural shapes and patterns found on the Underground whilst Laura Egbi reworks everyday objects including buttons and safety pins and transforms them into striking new shapes.
Ellie graduated from Leeds College of Art with a Printed Textiles and Surface Pattern Degree. Since leaving University she has designed for Laura Ashley and Lemon Ribbon. Ellie has a passion for pattern, drawing and bright colours. She is a collector of papers, fabrics and ceramics, using what she finds to influence and inspire her designs. Ellie's Geo Collection is new for AW14, inspired by architectural shapes and patterns found on the Underground. She uses bold, clean lines with a retro inspired colour palette to create eye-catching geometric designs.
Laura grew up in South-East London and has always been passionate for all things art and design. She studied at the London College of Communication, where she graduated with a degree in Surface Design. Laura's cushions feature everyday items, which stem from her unusual desire to celebrate ordinary objects. Laura aims to elevate these objects to glory through her luxurious colour palette and
intricate, illusional designs.
Character and charm…..
Defining the animal trend, Amy Brocklehurst and Lisa Bliss add their own inimitable style and humor to their illustrative work. Amy's 'Cherry Hog' collection of cushions features finely drawn portraits with a classical feel. Lisa's Stag Head and Dachshund designs are given a quirky and contemporary twist with their use of scale and colour.
Amy graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in Printed Textiles. Inspired by antique Victorian collectables, Amy's 'Cherry Hog' Collection (which is Cockney rhyming slang for dog) features contemporary, hand drawn illustrations of popular English dogs framed by a decorative border. The designs are printed onto soft, natural flax linen.
Lisa graduated from the Norwich University College of the Arts with a degree in textiles. 'I love the old, and I like to think my passion for old books and their intricate illustrations come through in the style of my drawings.' 'I draw to a large scale, as it allows me to define detail in the illustrations. Animals play a large part in my subject matter and you can often find me in the natural history part of museums sketching away.' 'I like the idea of hand drawn animals with warm, strong and luxurious colours, this is reflected in my collections 'Outside In' and 'Mans Best Friend'.
RSPs - Cushions from £35.00, Wallpaper £125.00 per roll.
The full collection also includes ceramics, wall art and stationery and can be found at www.graduatecollection.co.uk.
