This September, CTO Lighting will present a brand new lighting collaboration with rising design star Michael Verheyden, alongside selected furniture and accessories from Verheyden's own collections, shown for the first time in the UK. Sharing an ethos of pure, refined forms, noble materials, craftsmanship and timeless appeal, the new pieces form the second lighting collaboration between the two design companies. The exhibition, to be held at the CTO Lighting showroom, 9 Cloudesley Road, Islington, N1 0FH, will run from 14th September throughout the London Design Festival.
Verheyden's designs, which he describes as humble luxury, are deeply rooted in his Flemish culture. Expertly crafted from the finest natural materials, the simplicity of the final products often belies the complexity of the design. 'I like a certain austerity in life, which I try to translate in my work,' says Verheyden. 'I want the things I own and design to be of the highest quality. Proportions and details are important to me, I think this quest for perfection will keep me busy for the rest of my life.'
CTO Lighting AT Decorex 2017 - Stand D31
In addition, CTO Lighting will present their own new studio collection: Organic (see below) at Decorex, from 17-20 September, on Stand D31. Inspired by new plant shoots bursting forth, Organic's random, asymmetric structure has a refreshing fluidity that chimes with nature's free-flowing forms. The Organic pendant will be shown alongside a family of pieces in this new series. Each is made-to-order and can be customised according to specifications.
About CTO Lighting
Creative directors, Chris and Clare Turner, founded CTO Lighting almost 20 years ago. They launched their first collection on the guiding principles of designing lights of uncompromising quality, using only the finest materials and working with elite British craftsmen. This collection of modern lighting symbolised elegance and excellence in British design manufacturing, the benchmark for all future collections.
Under the creative direction of Chris and Clare Turner, CTO Lighting has also worked with respected and award-winning designers to bring depth to their collection; Autoban, Michael Verheyden, Stéphane Parmentier and most recently French Canadian designers Larose Guyon.
