Winning the internationally coveted Red Dot Design Award last year (2011) has put the Gefu Rotary grater at the top of the wish list for many home cooks.
Based on the classic cheese grater design, this new generation drum-style grater has two easily interchangeable drums that produce shavings or fine gratings. New to the design is Gefu’s precision German engineering and its laser-cut grating blades that ensure everything from hard cheese and nuts to chocolate and garlic can be grated to perfection.
Operation of the Rotary grater could not be easier – put the food into the top of the grater and turn the handle – that’s it! And the beauty of this design is there is no wastage, every last morsel is grated.
The user can choose whether to grate directly onto a dish or into the storage container that can be attached to the appliance. The storage container comes complete with lid for convenient and airtight storage in the refrigerator.
The stand-out feature of the Gefu Rotary grater is the laser cut ‘blades’ of the two grating drums – this ensures they are razor sharp and stay sharp (unlike the old punched steel graters of old that shredded and tore food rather than cutting it cleanly).
The Rotary Grater comes apart for easy and thorough cleaning. Made from food-grade plastic and stainless steel, it is completely dishwasher safe.
The Gefu Rotary Grater is available nationally from independent kitchenware retailers for $56.95.
