Places are booking fast for the APL Stone Seminar – Paving the Way which takes place on Tuesday 17 January at Whittlebury Hall in Northamptonshire, so book now to secure your spot.
The event, sponsored by London Stone, has been put together to deliver landscape contractors and designers an invaluable technical insight into the range of materials and techniques in hard landscaping.
Bringing together many experts in the field, the seminar will cover technical aspects of paving including the importance of good practical design, choice of sub-base and bedding methods. Our journey will then take you through the technicalities and current methods of laying, cutting in, and an investigation of pointing, traditional versus modern. Questions like “To seal or not to seal” will be answered, and of course no day on paving would be complete without a discussion on “Porcelain”.
There will be presentations on quality, consistency and understanding of tolerances as well as discussions on ethical sourcing, supply chain, size of market, the use of concrete and a look at what to do when it goes wrong.
Speakers include Jason Lock (Deakinlock) Paul Hensey (FSGD from Green Zone Design), Steven Walley (London Stone), David Sewell (The Gardenmakers), Giles Heap (CED) Barry Hunt (IBIS), Martyn Fear (Specialist Precast Products Ltd), James Lucas (Extensive Limited) and Mark Gregory (Landform Consultants) to name a few.
With so many experts on hand there will be plenty of opportunity through the day to present your questions to the speakers. An invaluable technical day it is open to all across the industry to attend for £75 + VAT. Book now at www.hta.org.uk/aplstoneseminar
