Louis De Poortere unveils Sendai as part of its 2026 collection, a rug conceived as a study in colour, gesture and quiet movement. 

Drawing from traditional Indian fabric dyeing techniques, the design reflects the delicate moment where pigments dissolve into one another, forming gradients of remarkable subtlety. These artisanal references are not reproduced literally; instead, they are distilled into a contemporary language that captures the emotional resonance of handcrafted processes through light, rhythm and tone.

In Sendai, colour behaves as a living surface. Each transition is carefully orchestrated to balance discipline with fluidity, allowing hues to breathe across the rug in expansive, softened fields.
