JIG Studio, a Brazilian design collective and new force in global design has launched in London with a permanent showroom in the heart of Soho. The Studio will debut with over 35 exclusive works (shown in Europe for the first time) by seven of the most innovative design talents working in Brazil today.

Located in Soho at 25 Lexington Street, the permanent space will function as a design gallery, retail destination and cultural platform. Pieces will be exhibited across two floors and refreshed seasonally through curated edits and exhibitions. The inaugural collection includes works in textiles, woodwork and experimental mixed media, each piece reflecting the deep material heritage and evolving voice of Brazilian design.

Co-founded by London-based architect Richard Penman - known for his work with clients such as Issey Miyake to Stella McCartney - and Grace Nemeth, a Brazilian-born design strategist and entrepreneur with a background in business, design and innovation, JIG Studio seeks to amplify the emotional and cultural power of contemporary Brazilian design on the global stage.

Designers and key highlights from the debut collection

• Alex Rocca: Rocca is a textile artist and visual storyteller using diverse materials – copper, brass, beads, wood, stones, and wires, interspersed with new experiments such as glass fusion techniques. His work seeks to redefine materials and techniques to tell stories. A visual artist and textile designer who explores the world of textile art through the lens of ancestry, culture, and Afro-Brazilian religions to create handcrafted one-of-a-kind pieces rich in meaning. • Humberto da Marta: Born in Brasilia and living in São Paulo for the past 11 years with a studio dedicated to manual construction techniques, using several materials, and collaborating with local artisans and small industries. Following a stint with the Campana Brothers, he now works in paper, pulp, and ceramics with a focus on aesthetics and functionality. Key piece in the collection: Trama Lounge Chair and Floor Lamp N.10. 

• Gustavo Bittencourt: Gustavo and Atelier Gustavo Bittencourt delve into the diversity of materials, joints, textures, and processes. He explores the tension between form, function and raw materials and his pieces layer traditional woodworking with a contemporary design language. Key piece in the collection: Chair Orto.

   

  • Bonni: A rising star in Brazilian design, Erik Bonissato was named in the Forbes Under 30 list in 2022 and recently awarded SP-Arte talent of the year. His designs, include the Esfera Lamp and Sphere sideboard merge sculptural elegance with technical precision. Key piece in the collection: Curva Chair.

   

  • Origin: A Brazilian design brand based in Caxias do Sul, in the mountainous region of Rio Grande do Sul, known for its handcrafted furniture and objects that celebrate the natural beauty of solid wood. Working from a 2,000-square-meter facility that fuses cutting-edge technology with artisanal techniques, Origin collaborates with some of Brazil's most respected design voices—including Studio Origin (Alisson Quissini and Douglas Primo) and the female-led collective Plataforma4 (Rejane Carvalho Leite, Camila Fix, and Flávia Pagotti Silva). Together, they create authorial pieces that reflect the essence of Brazilian culture through organic forms, timeless aesthetics, and a shared pursuit of innovation and excellence. Key piece: Mesa Raizes.

   

  • Ovo: Founded by Luciana Martins and Gerson de Oliveira in 1991 and based in Sao Paolo. Ovo has been awarded awards at the Museu da Casa Brasileira with work featured in major exhibitions including the Sao Paulo Museum of Modern Art. Named Designers of the Year by Casa Vogue in 2018 and 2020 and Designers of the Year 2025 by Elle Decoration Brazil where the Iguais dining table was awarded best product. Key pieces: Luminaria Vela and Stool RIO

   

  • Ronald Sasson: A celebrated designer and artist who works in plastic, Sasson's work has been shown globally from Art Basel to The Venice Biennial receiving critical acclaim. His furniture is minimal yet deeply expressive defined by tactile richness and refined proportions. Key piece: Coffee table Nazca

   

  Grace Nemeth, co-founder JIG Studio said, “Brazil is a hotbed of design talent - incredibly underrepresented in the UK and Europe.
