The Hackney Draper

Add a touch of animal magic to your Christmas decoration with these cute hand-made woollen figures. Tie them to your tree, hang them from the mantelpiece or wherever you need a little whimsical fun. They are hand-made by a fairtrade collective in Nepal but designed closer to home in Bristol. As you would expect from The Hackney Draper, they are completely plastic-free.

The Hackney Draper is the go-to destination for homemakers, interior designers, and architects drawn to its exclusive collection of fabrics, cushions, paints, and distinctive homewares, ethically made and accessibly priced.

Founded by Pat Giddens as a natural extension of her well-established curtain-making business, The Hackney Draper first opened its doors in 2014 with a clear vision: to create a one-stop shop offering beautiful, natural fabrics and original homewares, alongside thoughtfully sourced, handcrafted pieces from international artisans and local craftspeople.

Here you’ll find Madagascan basketry, Japanese ceramics, French kitchen linens, Colombian glassware, Romanian pottery, handwoven Anatolian towels, and Indian Kanthas , many made using traditional techniques passed down through generations.  Inspired by and sourced during Pat’s travels and from her family base in Southern India, every piece reflects a commitment to sustainability and natural materials, with a focus on quality, longevity, and timeless appeal.
