Agnieszka Bar Agnieszka Bar showcases her latest poetic explorations in glass with tactile handmade vessels balancing elegance with function, using colour and texture grounded in Poland's deep-rooted glassmaking traditions.
'Vibrant Seeds' made of freehand formed blown glass have unexpected fairy-tale colours and structures. Some hibernating others sprouting, the delicate and precious 'seeds' are bathed in light and energetically stretched upwards. 'Ground' using tinted glass is formed with an original technique using wicker, merging two of Bars passions – glassmaking and basketry. Selecting the colours of the earth's resources solar, river and copper, the pieces allow us to reflect on inner grounding, surrendering to the current of life and nurturing our energy centres.

Malwina Konopacka, the illustrator-turned-ceramicist, brings her cult OKO collection to life with sculptural vases and bold colour narratives that blur the line between art and design. The 'Anna' Vase, as tall as the classic OKO but more delicate in shape, with organic indentations which evoke the calm of sea waves and the refinement of Italian sculpture. The 'Irena Circus' vase has a spherical shape topped with a narrow neck; its rounded form beautifully showcasing any flowers and delights with the Circus edition gaining playful handles.

NOTES
Agnieszka Bar. Glass has always been at the heart of Agnieszka Bar's practice. Raised in the Sudetes in south-west Poland, a region steeped in glassmaking tradition, she grew up surrounded by craft—her father a woodworker, her grandmother a seamstress. This early exposure to handmade work instilled a deep respect for materials and process, something she still carries forward today. Bar studied ceramics and glass at the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, with further training at institutions in Bratislava and Liberec. In 2009, she co-founded the WZOROWO Design Group. Her breakthrough came in 2007 with Na Palec (On Finger), a collection of mould-blown glassware distinguished by an ergonomic dimple that improves grip—a quiet innovation with a lasting appeal. Recent projects include Vibrant Seeds, a series of works inspired by literary fragments, and Ground, which brings together glass and basketry with an emphasis on sustainability. Her work, as she describes, seeks to reconnect us with the earth and evoke a sense of care, both for ourselves and for the planet. Bar has exhibited widely and received numerous accolades. Her work forms part of the permanent collections at the National Museums in Wrocław, Kraków, and Warsaw. http://agnieszkabar.pl/
Malwina Konopacka An industrial design graduate, illustrator-turned-ceramist Konopacka appears to have stumbled into a hugely successful career in ceramics almost by chance. The renowned OKO ceramic family, first formed as a student was not returned to until 2014 as an extension of her graphic design work, however, its huge success at the Tokyo Design Days exhibition drove an entire career change. Often adorned with balls and circles, her pieces offer an organic and colourful, pop aesthetic and sit across both art and design. In 2018 her piece 'Teresa' working with the National Museum in Warsaw involved 10 leading artists creating designs on one of her vases, where recently, to celebrate OKO's 10th anniversary Konopacka launched a series of vases, trays, bowls, mugs and home accessories. Her works are found in numerous private collections and in the design collection of the National Museum in Krakow. OKO Malwina Konopacka
UAU PROJECT, A Warsaw-based design studio founded by Justyna Fałdzińska and Miłosz Dąbrowski in 2011, UAU Project has eschewed the traditional manufacturing route. Designing joyful, sustainable objects that challenge conventional material thinking, the colourful vessels and vases – which have a 'Memphis meets techno' feel – are designed to be 3D printed from plant-based bioplastics. Recyclable and compostable in industrial facilities, the portfolio has a production process that creates almost no waste. Since 2016 the studio introduced algorithms in their design process to generate textures and colour experimentation. With the introduction of award-winning products such as miniature greenhouse GROWW, followed by exhibiting at Pairs and New York and winning the Talent section at Frankfurt's Ambiente International Consumer Goods Fair, UAU Project are at the forefront of a new wave of Polish designers making an impact across the globe. Zięta Studio Founded in 2007 by architect and designer Oskar Zięta, Zieta Studio has earned international acclaim for its pioneering FiDU technology (Free Internal Pressure Deformation), a unique method that involves inflating welded steel sheets with high-pressure air, transforming flat metal into lightweight, durable, and sculptural forms. The studio first captured global attention with the playful PLOPP stool, now an icon of contemporary design. Based between Wrocław and Zielona Góra, the studio keeps its entire process in-house, allowing for continuous experimentation and evolution. Since debuting in the UK at the 2009 London Design Festival, Zieta Studio has expanded its portfolio to include mirrors, furniture, installations, and even prototypes for sustainable vehicles—all infused with a spirit of joy and technical ingenuity. Its most recent UK appearance was
Through Process to Progress, a mid-career exhibition at Loop Generation in 2024. A new sculptural installation, Whispers, opens this May as part of the London Festival of Architecture. www.zieta.pl/en
The installation is public task financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland within the grant competition “Public Diplomacy 2024 – 2025 - the European dimension and countering disinformation.”
