Graphenstone Purifying Paints, one of the most widely certified paint brands in the world has unveiled three distinct colour palettes for Spring – Smoked green and gold, Cinnamon rouge and a nostalgic nod to the 1970s.

Each one, created by Graphenstone colour consultant, Betsy Smith celebrates a subtlety and complexity of palette that is perfect for the darker coming to light months that can 'only be achieved with high quality paint' using clever colour juxtapositions in proportion to the space and vintage lighting.

Colour palette one: Smoked green and gold

Walls painted in: Ardennes, doors and window frame in Silver Moss, room beyond in Imperial and ceiling in Old Bone.

Betsy Smith, “Ardennes is a green beige that combined with dull gold creates a touch of glamour. Silver Moss doors and windows add a crispness that prevents the palette from becoming murky.  Beyond, we have used Imperial blue to make the space feel infinite and intriguing – perfect for enhancing the sculptural shapes of the table and chairs. “

A palette that exudes calm and warmth.  Soft smoky green walls combined with colour pops of teal in deep Imperial Blue with the woodwork in a crisp, refined, and delicate silver moss.

Colour Palette two:  Sophisticated rouge

Walls painted in Cinnamon, panelling in Carnelian and Cinnabar red.

“A sophisticated palette of rouge tones that fuses the traditional and modern that celebrates the return of the physical – books and art – an antidote to the digital to create a tech free restful environment.” Betsy Smith.

Graphenstone Cinnamon is a rich dusky pink that sits elusively between dusty earth, cocoa powder, and mulberry. It seems like if you were to run your fingers along the walls it would come off like dried earth in your hands. Combined with rich Carnelian woodwork, it provides a complex palette that is velvety and deep. Woodwork is a great place to put deeper tones - offset with the bright and vibrant Cinnabar red to add a pop of colour that ensures the space does not feel too clubby, drawing the eye in to the contents of the shelves and rebounding a warm light around the room that looks chic.

Colour palette three:  A nostalgic nod to the 1970s

Walls painted in: Clotted cream; Imperial Blue and Bengal

“A nostalgic nod to the creams and textures of the 1970's reinvented with blue and ginger” Betsy Smith

A painted headboard is a great way to set the tone of a bedroom and it can be easily changed with the season, you can add colour without it interfering in your rest space as it cannot be seen from bed.  Here, we've used Bengal for the bed surround with vintage 50s lights and velvet throws offset by warm clotted cream on the walls. With exterior walls in Breaking Waves from the Ashmolean collection to provide a frame for the room that contrasts with the heat from the bedroom that results in a friendly space that is both inviting and warm but calm and sophisticated.

About Graphenstone:

Graphenstone 'Purifying Paints' champion the fusion of beauty and environmental stewardship, offering paints that transform indoor spaces into havens of wellness. Our innovative paints ensure a healthier, breathable environment, appealing to eco-conscious designers, architects, and homeowners. Beyond individual benefits, Graphenstone leads the sustainability charge in the paint industry, leveraging traditional minerals and ecological production practices.

Graphenstone meets the highest environmental and manufacturing standards (Cradle to Cradle, Eurofins, Global GreenTag) which provides consumers, regulators, and industry peers with a clear, visible, and tangible validation of the manufacturers' ongoing commitment to sustainability.  Products are made from natural minerals and sustainable raw materials that truly embody the values of a circular economy. Their packaging is derived from 100% recycled materials which are all fully recyclable too. Opting for Graphenstone is a commitment to both indoor wellness and the planet's future.

Graphenstone paints contain Graphene - the strongest material now known to science. It was discovered in 2005 by two Nobel Prize winners at Manchester University. It is a highly inert, innocuous, nontoxic pure carbon. Graphene's inclusion in paints, coatings and other building materials enhances hardness, durability, compression, tensile strength, elasticity, and coverage.

The vapour open nature of Graphenstone's lime and graphene-infused coatings ensures that walls can breathe. This can regulate indoor humidity levels and help to reduce condensation. The high pH and naturally vapour open nature of the paints lessens the build-up of moulds and microorganisms, helping to improve indoor air quality. With trace VOCs (less than 0.1%), the virtually odourless nature of Graphenstone paint is perfect for allergen suffers and people with acute sensitivities, allowing rooms to be occupied within a few hours of application.

Clients include English Heritage, The Eden Project, Meta, Grosvenor Estates, Historic Royal Palaces and Rose Uniacke.  Graphenstone UK is based in Norfolk.
