Gossip Girl Reboot: Interior Inspiration from the Upper East Side

Full Volume PR

Hey Upper East Siders, Gossip Girl is back! The Gossip Girl reboot has premiered on HBO Max this month and has soon shot up to become the most watched original series ever. In fact, Google searches for 'Gossip Girl' have increased by 200% since the new series premiered. The reboot sees a whole new cast, and with fresh faces comes fresh interiors.

The range of interiors in each of the characters apartments are in a league of their own, but how does it compare to the décor of the original? And how can you take inspiration for your own home?

Emmie Brookman, Interiors Expert and Co-Founder of Silver Mushroom says: “The interior décor of the Gossip Girl apartments, both old and new, is reflective of the personalities of those who live in them. Your living space should be a reflection of who you are, whether that be dark and mysterious, bright and maximalist, or introverted and minimalist.

“Using your favourite TV series to inspire your interior is relatively easy, simply pull together a mood board on the colours, textures, patterns and designs before selecting products that fit in well with you and your home. We have always loved Gossip Girl, so we are super excited to get stuck into the reboot!”

Max Wolfe's West Village Townhouse

“The maximalist energy in Max Wolfe's townhouse creates a scene that is very eye-catching. The combination of a fringed green velvet sofa, animal print rug, floral chair and contrasting colours reflects the moody disposition of Max's character (think of bad boy Chuck Bass – without the fortune).

“The rich jewel tones and patterns are something that can be easily replicated, simply select vintage-style décor and combine different patterns and colours to create something astonishing.”

Products such as:

Audrey's Upper East Side Living Room

“This living room is unique to say the least, in our eyes it screams “old money”. The space combines the classic with the modern, softened out with pastel colours and traditional decor, perfectly suited to Audrey's character, who we'd describe as the mix between Jenny and Serena.”

Recreate the look:

Julien Calloway's Tribeca Penthouse

“This penthouse reflects the Manhattan-style. The décor only needs to be simple with the penthouse panning 360-degree views of New York City, it is breath taking enough on its own. The colour pallet is pretty neutral, with cool tones creeping in every now and again, it is definitely a modern take on the previous series.”

Why not try:

Obie Bergmann's Dumbo Loft

“The décor in Obie Bergmann's loft is playful, industrial and arty. The room is filled with texture and warm tones, which definitely make it visually appealing and inviting. Simple additions like contrasting cushions, a coffee table filled with objects, a textured rug and statement wall art create something rather iconic.”

Recreate the look with:

“The crew have been seriously creative with the sets, rather than simply copying the original series each apartment replicates the characters and what we should expect from them. We are so excited to keep watching but for now…

XOXO, Gossip Girl”
