Burpee Europe

As we tentatively take the first steps out of lockdown, gardens will still be safe places of contemplation for many.  Whether you are looking to entertain in your outdoor space or simply want to keep your haven of flowers to yourself, a place of calm and quiet can be easily achieved with varieties from Burpee Europe.

Step One - Choose Soothing Colours
Sowing the varieties of blooms that will have your garden painted in calming colours will allow you to enjoy the inner peace of total garden relaxation.  Combining blues, purples and whites together with swaying grasses, will bring a little bit of zen to your own backyard.

Step Two - Breathe In Relaxing Scent
To truly cultivate a tranquil environment where you can contemplate, meditate, relax and refresh, all the senses should be utilised.  So bring the ambience of holiday memories to your own home by sowing plants such as Lavender for its aromatherapy benefits. And pots full of herbs such as Rosemary and Thyme not only smell good but are also the perfect ingredients to add to healthy recipes.

Step Three - Sow Plants For Pollinators
To help bees and other pollinators in your garden, sow plants that will attract them.  Flowers such as Verbascum, Echinacea and Lavender are soothing to look at and are also on the RHS Plant For Pollinators list.  Just watching and hearing the bees and butterflies will help you feel at peace with the world.

Step Four - Create A Cosy Area
Why not create a secluded area where you can curl up and read a book or simply sit and relax.  If you don't have garden furniture you can just throw down a towel and lie back. You can use tall plants as a screen, or even use a trellis with climbing plants such as Morning Glory for a little privacy.

Using the tips above and maybe adding a small water feature or something as simple as wind chimes, will complete the picture and help you to reach your quiet place in your garden.
