Thornhill Range Cookers are designed and built in the UK and are the passion of its founder engineer Graham Thornhill, who like many others is a great supporter of the warmth and charm a range cooker invites into your kitchen – the hub of the home. Equally, as experienced by many range owners, Graham was not thrilled with the running costs, lack of control or indeed the environmental impact most traditional ranges inflict.  Such was his drive to find a more environmentally friendly option, Graham took his extensive engineering expertise and decided to invent his own cookers made here in the UK with highly efficient eco driven fuel options – his unique innovative Thornhill Turbo Technology® was born. 

The results are a stunning collection of 3 and 5 oven range cookers all made from iron, offering oil, electric, wood burning, pellet and gas fuel choices as well as combination hybrids. Each version ensures more control over your cooking and heating options, whilst reducing your carbon footprint and emissions. They are easy to use, heat controllable and essentially allow you to turn off unnecessary heating in the summer months but still enjoy the beauty range cooking.  Each is tailored to your own choice, are made to order, built to last a lifetime.

The new 5 Oven cookers include the Wood Electric Hybrid

This new wood burning hybrid oven is not only carbon neutral, featuring the ground-breaking technology, but is one of the cleanest ovens with 85% efficiency. And in terms of fuel cost savings just 1kg of logs will last for over an hour in this oven, so a small basket of logs will easily take care of even the largest family roast dinner!

This option features 3 wood heated ovens, double hot plate, 2 extra electric ovens to boost the wood burning oven temperatures if needed, a grill in a top oven, and double domino hob – every option is covered to ensure ease of use and maximum cooking results, all at very low running costs.  The wood burning main oven sits around 180-220C depending on your settings once fully running, the second top oven will run at between 20-30 degrees lower, and the lowest oven will again run 20-30 degrees lower all depending on how long the cooker has been alight.   The electric ovens provide an extra boost in heat whenever needed, as the wood ovens will be providing a warm 60-80C to these ovens but electric control is there for when needed.  It's also very useful to use only the electric source in the summer when you won't need your kitchen benefiting from the 3-5kW of wood burning heat.

5 Oven Oil Cooker

The beautiful of this cooker is that it runs via a time clock and thermostat  so you can wake up to a nice warm kitchen and a cooker ready to use. Two generous sized hot plates will heat to boiling in just 4-5 minutes and the oven only 25 minutes to reach 180C resulting in amazingly low running costs – we estimate from as little as under £140 a year when used as a cooker or under £400 when used as a cooker and heat source to your room (3kW). You may be surprised to know that an electric cooker actually uses the same amount of kW's as an oil cooker. 

The five ample sized ovens are approx. 20% larger than others on the market with the main oven being temperature controlled via a thermostat,  the oven next to it will then be 30-40C cooler and then the third oven 30-40 degrees lower again. The remaining two ovens are electric ran for summertime usage or for when cooking up a feast for the family. A grill included in the top oven and two burner halogen hob on the top ideal for summer use and bringing larger saucepans to the boil faster.
